Hello, Colleague!

Julia Stukalo introduces herself and the Kaluga, Russia location.

"One of my best experiences at Volkswagen has to be when my fiancé gave me flowers made from improvised materials."

Julia Stukalo

How long have you been at Volkswagen? What exactly do you do at the Kaluga plant?

I currently work as a specialist in quality assurance in frame and body construction and in the paint shop. I have been at Volkswagen since September 2008, so almost ten years. I used to work in the food industry for many years, in the production of baked goods.

Why do you like working at Volkswagen? What is the best experience you have had?

I particularly value the stability and attractive working conditions at Volkswagen. One of my best experiences at Volkswagen has to be when my fiancé gave me flowers made from improvised materials. They now sit proudly on my desk. My husband, by the way, works here at Volkswagen, too. Something I will always remember is my first business trip abroad, when I visited the Czech Republic.

What should colleagues visiting Kaluga make sure to see or do?

Colleagues visiting our city for the first time should definitely visit the space museum, which is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Kaluga is the hometown of the famous Russian scientist, Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky. He is considered one of the founders of modern astronautics. To Russian-speaking colleagues, I recommend a visit to the theater in Kaluga and catch a performance with Igor Kumitsky. He is an outstanding comedian. I am sure that he will make his audience feel many positive emotions they will always remember. Winter sports fans should take a trip to the Kvan ski resort.
