Volkswagen supports the Paralympics

Volkswagen do Brasil is supporting two participants at the Paralympic Games, the Olympic Games for athletes with disabilities. They will be held from September 7–18 in Rio de Janeiro. The Olympic Games took place in the Brazilian metropolis at the end of August.

Swimmer André Brasil won a total of seven gold and three silver medals at the Paralympics in London 2012 and Beijing 2008. He is currently the holder of six world records. Rower Claudia Cicero has won all the national championships in her discipline since 2007. At the world championships in Munich in 2007, she won the gold medal and gained subsequent experience at the Paralympic Games in London and Beijing. Brasil, Cicero and another 15 athletes are supported by the Athletes of the Future initiative, which was founded by the Brazilian-German social-cultural institute. At the same time, Volkswagen do Brasil and other companies are sponsoring the athletes.
