Employees

Hello, Colleague!

Employees from around the world. This time: Alžbeta Balážová from the Bratislava plant in Slovakia.

"I like my job very much. What could be better than
enjoying your work?"

Alžbeta Balážová

How long have you been at
Volkswagen? What exactly do you do at the Bratislava plant?

I have been at Volkswagen Slovakia since
September 2014. After finishing my studies
in mechanical engineering at
the technical university, I started
a trainee program at the
Bratislava plant. As a trainee, I worked
in Product Management. There I was responsible for the bodywork of our New Small Family – that’s
the Volkswagen up!  and e-up!¹, the
Skoda Citigo and the Seat Mii – together
with a colleague. I’m currently working as a consultant on the
new Touareg2. In the pre-production phase, my job was to communicate potential improvements in the
bodywork to the Development
department. At that time,
I was in constant contact with the pilot hall.

What do you like about
 Volkswagen?

I like my job very much. What could be better than
enjoying your work? I also met my future husband
at Volkswagen.
He works as a designer in the body shop.
We will get married in September.

What should colleagues visiting Bratislava be
sure to do?

Visit the city center at night. The view from the historic old bridge towards the castle at sundown is amazing. For fitness and nature lovers, it
is worth trying out the cycle route from Devín Castle to the
Sandberg. You can rent a bike
or even an e-bike from the old market hall in the "up!  city." This is a project by Volkswagen Slovakia. Residents and tourists can also rent our  e-up! there.
