Personality
Is Everything

Employee Sarah Wipperfürth dreams
of becoming
Miss Germany.

She first completed her apprenticeship in electrical engineering for automation technology at the Braunschweig plant before transferring to Technical Development in Wolfsburg. “I oversee and test the high-voltage components in the testing facility for all electric vehicles,” says Wipperfürth. She makes no secret of her hobby to her (mostly male) co-workers. “They all think it’s really cool and they root for me.” The young woman also knows that beauty contests demand more than just looks. “The most beautiful dress in the world would be worth nothing without personality. That is everything.”

Sarah Wipperfürth

Sarah Wipperfürth usually comes to work in jeans and sneakers, her blonde hair tied into a practical ponytail. But on weekends, the 22-year-old is completely transformed: in an evening dress and high-heeled shoes with a sophisticated hairstyle, she does her best to win over the judges of beauty pageants. And she succeeds. The Volkswagen employee recently took third place in the Miss North Germany contest. “I was so happy just to have taken part,” reports Wipperfürth, who has worked for Volkswagen since 2012.
