The right design is crucial

How do you correctly design letterhead and business cards, and how are PowerPoint templates and signs for buildings, doors and information supposed to look? All that and more can be found at Volkswagen Brand Net, which can be accessed with password protection by every employee who registers at You can also find the appropriate Volkswagen brand templates there. Ivonne Seemann at Corporate Design is keen to point that out.

The department is responsible for a uniform, unmistakable brand appearance – for example, logo design and the type of fonts used. “Corporate design is not a matter of personal taste, but the image of a brand. The more precisely and clearly corporate design is applied both externally and internally, the higher our awareness and recognition factors will be,” Seemann says.

Every year there are around 81,000 hits from around the world on the Brand Net page, and 83,500 downloads of the templates. Even so, Seemann still comes across individually created designs – for example, with regard to the lettering and/or logo in PowerPoint presentations or on door signs. “There are templates for almost everything, which is a big help to employees in their daily work. That way everyone has the opportunity to be a perfect brand ambassador within the group and to the public,” says Seemann, referring also to Brand Support.
